Historic Palace Theatre
The Historic Palace Theatre in Lockport, NY, is a proscenium-arch-style space built in 1925 by Charles Dickinson. The decor is an eclectic mix of art deco and Italian Renaissance styles and is a replica of New York City's Famous Paramount Theatre. The Palace was on the cutting edge of technology. Besides being technologically advanced with air conditioning, a pipe organ, and an orchestra pit, it was also exquisitely decorated. The murals on the ceiling still exist today.

Lockport Locks & Erie Canal Cruises
Much remains the same on the Erie Canal today as it was in the 1800's. Hand-dug to connect the Hudson River with the Niagara River, the 363-mile Grand Old Erie Canal is truly a great engineering feat. Originally, 83 stone locks overcame the 571-foot difference in the level between the rivers. Enlarged in the early 1900's, now 35 locks allow larger vessels to travel across New York State. 210 Market Street is on the LEFT at the base of the hill.

Market Street Art Center and Studio
Our 100 year old building formerly housed the Western Block Company, once the largest manfacturer of block and tackle in the country. The block and tackle manufactured here was widely used in the shipping trade and other industries. Samples of the molds used and other historical items are on display.
